Benefit to a child with multiple impairments

As of June 1st, 2018, the parent of a disabled child, for whom 3 grounds of eligibility have been established, each of them entitling him to a 50% rate benefit - will be entitled to a benefit at 100% rate.

That concerns a child with multiple impairments resulting in a great therapeutic burden and complex struggle, arising from severe diseases requiring the parent's full supervision over the child.

Grounds of eligibility, everyone of which grants a 50% benefit:

Down Syndrome, partial supervision, cerebral palsy and limb problems, speech problems (communication assistance), partial dependence on the help of others in performing activities of daily livinghard of hearing, blood test twice a day (diabetes).

Entitlement is determined for the period during which all three eligibility grounds where suffered at the same time.

Authorizations to be provided

All authorizations as detailed in each impairment information page.

In certain circumstances, we may examine benefit eligibility based on documentation alone, without requiring the child's examination by a Medical Board.

Should entitlement be established based on documents only, you would keep the possibility to request, within 45 days, to be examined by the Board in the child's presence.

  • Prior to the Medical Board, it is recommended to prepare a list of your child's medical problems, and to indicate, during the Board, how these medical problems affect the functioning of the child and his parents.
  • Receiving a disabled child allowance entitles to benefits from other institutions and organizations.
