The deceased completed a qualifying periods (insurance)



The deceased accumulated one of these insurance periods, in which they were covered by survivors’ insurance:

  • 12 months before the date of death.
  • 24 months, consecutive or not consecutive, in the 5 years before the date of death.
  • 60 months (5 years) consecutive or not consecutive, in the 10 years before the date of death.
  • 144 months (12 years), consecutive or not consecutive.
  • 60 months, consecutive or not consecutive, from the date as on which he/she first became a resident of Israel, provided that the number of months that he/she was not insured does not exceed the number of months that he/she was insured.

Following are the insurance periods (accumulated for purposes of the above qualifying periods) that must have been accumulated by a married woman who passed away.

In the following cases, completion of a qualifying period (accumulation from one of above mentioned insurance periods) is not required from those who were "insured worker" on the eve of the death:

  • The deceased died within one year from the date that he/she became a resident of Israel.
  • He/she died before reaching the age of 19.
  • He/she was the main wage earner for the spouse or the children.
  • She died within one year from the date on which she was divorced or widowed.
Important,

If the deceased woman had children but she did not complete the required qualifying period (insurance), only her children are entitled to a survivors’ pension.
