To receive information about the following services, one must contact the rehabilitation workers of your local branch.
Counseling and personal care
The rehabilitation workers of National Insurance branches (social workers with special training) will contact the families immediately after the hostile action, and will remain at their disposal to provide counseling, guidance and direction for any issue related to their mental, social and family rehabilitation, and in relation to the take up of rights and various services.
Psychological therapy
In addition to the counselling provided by rehabilitation workers, the spouse (widowers, widows or common law partners), orphans, parents and siblings of victims of hostilities are entitled to funding of psychological treatment, should the rehabilitation worker consider that such treatment may be improve their emotional state and functioning.
The funding of the treatment is conditional upon the agreement between the entitled person and the rehabilitation worker concerning the problem/s requiring attention, treatment goals, assessment of the person's ability to be helped by the treatment and the type of treatment required, as well as the specialization of the therapist.
Emotional intervention
Bereaved parents, spouse, orphans and siblings of the victim are entitled to receive a participation in the cost of emotional intervention.
This funding participation is granted for emotional interventions of the following types:
- Hydrotherapy
- Treatment with animals
- Horse riding therapy
- Treatment with gardening
To take up this assistance, one must contact the rehabilitation workers and obtain prior approval to that effect. Eligible person will be solely responsible for choosing the type of emotional intervention and a therapist.
Support groups
The Rehabilitation Department organizes therapeutic support groups for the spouse (widowers, widows or common law partners), orphans, parents and siblings, and orphans of victims of hostilities, designed to help participants to cope with the difficulties related to their loss.
The groups are held in most branches and their operation is subject to the number of participants. Moreover, the Rehabilitation Department manages volunteers to provide assistance and support to bereaved families.
