Counseling Service for the Elderly

The counseling service for the elderly and their families has been established as a complementary service of the National Insurance.
It deals with assistance in the take-up of rights of senior citizens and offering a sensitive support, to allow the elderly to live a quality life within their community.

The service is provided free of charge, operated by social workers and rely on some 4,500 volunteering pensioners in every branches of the National Insurance.

These volunteers are studying in an academic training course, in order to provide counsel, guidance and support to the elderly and their families, and commit to participate regularly in guidance groups, which represent an integral part of volunteering work.

Services offered:

  • Ongoing social connection
  • Information days
  • Support groups
  • Assistance in the context of public reception

As part of the service, we operate a national call center for support and information at *9696 that provides a direct and human response from Sunday through Thursday, between 9:00 and 13:30.
