You are eligible for a vehicle purchase grant once every 3.5 years.
What is include in the entitlement?
- The basic eligibility for a vehicle at level 1 is up to NIS 148,210, of which a grant and tax exemption in the amount of 85% of this amount or the basic cost of the vehicle – whichever is cheaper.
- For those who have also been recognized due to a physical impairment and for a parent of 4 children (minors) or more or a parent of 3 children in possession of a service dog may receive a higher eligibility.
Please note, if a vehicle is purchased below the eligibility amount, the grant and tax exemption will be up to 85% of the basic cost of the vehicle purchased.
Eligibility conditions
- Before purchasing a first vehicle, it is necessary to pass a driver's fitness assessment at the Medical Institute for Road Safety.
- The vehicle should be registered in the name of the released hostage only (even in case of a minor).
- The vehicle license will be subject a restriction in favor of the National Insurance and cannot be sold without prior approval from the rehabilitation worker.
How to receive the grant?
To receive the grant, you must submit: a grant/loan application form (BL/590), a binding vehicle order, a valid driver's license photocopy (after assessment at the Medical Institute for Road Safety), an invoice for the purchase of the vehicle as well as a vehicle license of the new vehicle at the end of the process.
At the end of the purchase process, an up-to-date and final calculation will be made, and in accordance with this calculation, differentials will be paid or debts will be incurred.
