Participatory Action Research: The Perspectives of Social Service Users Regarding Social Services

This article presents a position paper describing the experiences, attitudes and recommendations of social service users regarding social services –in particular, the personal social services and the benefits system. The position paper was prepared in collaboration with seventy-eight social service users from various population groups within the framework of participatory action research. This article presents the position paper and the process by which it was produced, as well as discussing the themes emerging from the paper and the potential contributions of participatory action research for policy, theory and practice.
