How the request/proposal is processed


The research grant or scholarship applications are discussed and approved in accordance with a procedure specified in the National Insurance Law.

  • Discussion in the Internal Research Committee of the National Insurance Institute – The purpose of this committee is to recommend before the Council Committee the approval or rejection of the application, and in case of approval – the amount of the grant and the terms of the participation of the Institute in the funding of the research.
  • Discussion in the Council Committee – The purpose of this committee is to discuss the recommendations of the Internal Committee in regard to the grant or scholarship application. The Council Committee formulates its recommendations and forwards them for the approval of the Minister of Labor.
  • Approval of the recommendations of the Council Committee Recommendations by the Minister of labor
    The committees may forward the research proposals for evaluation by peer reviewers in Israel at any point. The peer reviews shall be sent to the researchers for response as determined by the research committees.
