An employer who has contracted Novel Coronavirus following an exposure to an infected person at the workplace - may be recognized victim of a work injury, and receive a work-injury allowance for the days he didn't work, due to his sickness.
In order to obtain a work-injury allowance, the employee shall submit to us a claim for work-injury allowance.
This claim is not easy to process since we have to analyze the infection track.
To help us in handling the claim fast, we ask you to transfer the following documents to the worker:
- Your authorization confirming that there is a high probability of infection in the workplace, including details of employees who were infected at work.
This authorization can be a separate document or made upon the form for medical care for a work-injured employee (BL/250).

The authorization or questionnaire shall not be attached to the worker's claim, the questionnaire is to be sent to you by mail and the claim on hold until your response is received.
Should you not certify that the infection very likely occurred at the workplace, you have the possibility to express your reservation under section 4 of the work-injury allowance claim form (
BL/211) or in the employer questionnaire.
By law, the employer is liable to pay work-injury allowance for the first 12 months.
