A volunteer or his dependents who are entitled to a benefit under the National Insurance Law, and a pension under another law (such as the Police (Disabled and Killed) Law or the Compensation to Soldiers Wounded When Saving the Lives of Others Law - 5725-1965), must choose a pension or the benefit under only one of the two entitling laws.
The volunteer must notify the National Insurance Institute if he submits a claim for the same event to another entity.
The volunteer must inform the NII of his choice in writing, after receiving details from the NII about the relevant benefit.
If you meet the conditions of entitlement for more than one benefit from the National Insurance Institute, you can check whether you can actually receive both benefits or only one of them, by means of this calculator.
