Entitlement is conditional on the woman's income

A calculator of the amount of maintenance payments to which you may be entitled under your court judgment and according to the amount of your income is available.

Entitlement to maintenance is conditional on the woman's income from work or other sources:

Income from work

A woman whose income from work or from a wage-replacing benefit (except for unemployment benefit) is higher than a certain sum that has been determined will not be entitled to maintenance payments from the National Insurance. See table of the determined sums.

How maintenance benefits are calculated

  1. From income amount up to 33.81% of the average wage - NIS 4,238 (as of Jan 01, 2024), is deducted NIS 878 (as of Jan 01, 2024).
  2. 25% of remaining amount is taken into account as classified income.
  3. From the differential between the level of income from work and 33.81% of average wage (NIS 4,238 (as of Jan 01, 2024)), 60% is taken into account.
  4. The income taken into account is constituted of above amounts calculated in 2 and 3.
  5. The sum that is paid amounts to either the rate specified in Regulations after deduction of the amount calculated above (in 4) or the rate ruled by the judgment on alimony - whichever is the lowest.

Income from sources other than work

  • A woman whose income not from work (National Insurance benefit, except for a wage-replacing benefit, but including unemployment benefits, allowance from other bodies, rent as well as capital and property), is equal to or higher than the sum to which she is entitled according to the regulations, is not entitled to maintenance payments from the National Insurance.
  • A woman whose non-work income is lower that the amount due to her under the regulations - in the calculation of the maintenance benefit, the amount of work income will be deducted from the benefit amount due to her according to the regulations.
