The National Insurance warns: evacuation grants and promotion grants ended yesterday and the legislation has not yet been extended

  • Evacuation grants (NIS 200 for adults, NIS 100 for children), for residents of the north and south who were evacuated from their homes - ended according to legislation on June 30.
  • Promotion grant - evacuated Northern workers who returned to work are entitled to a promotion grant. This grant ended on June 30 according to the existing legislation. The last payment for evacuation grants and promotion grants will be made during the month of July (next month) and without extension of the legislation, there will be no additional payment.
  • Agreement on grants in lieu of unemployment for residents of the North - residents of the North who lost their jobs following the war, have so far received a grant in lieu of unemployment (akin to unemployment benefit). According to existing legislation, it ends on 31.8.24 (August).

This legislation also requires early preparation, and the National Insurance Institute warns that in order properly prepare in terms of logistics, computer-systems and services - the legislation must be extended as soon as possible.

It should be noted that the National Insurance Institute and the Ministry of Finance are discussing the extension of this legislation (based on the agreement under Section 9 of the National Insurance Law).

However, to address your questions - this is the state of the legislation process and, as of this writing, no extension has been promoted yet.
