The National Insurance will transfer thousands of shekels as an advance to all the war wounded automatically

The National Insurance Institute, as the responsible institution for the treatment of civilians (not IDF soldiers) victims of terrorist acts and their families, decided to transfer in the coming days thousands of shekels in advance payment to the war wounded who have reached hospitals.
The advance will bring immediate assistance, without bureaucracy, for the needs of the wounded, in parallel with the continued handling of casualties and their families by the National Insurance.

How will the advance payment be made?

  • The advance payment will be automatically transferred to the bank accounts of the victims. The names of the wounded were transferred to the National Insurance Institute from the Ministry of Health and the employees of hostile actions and rehabilitation departments of the National Insurance reached most of the wounded in the hospitals, visited them, assisted them with rights take-up and each one of them has been assigned a dedicated rehabilitation official as a contact to attend their needs.
  • In the first stage, an advance of NIS 5,000 will be transferred for initial arrangement, at the same time the National Insurance will transfer an additional advance of between NIS 3,500 and NIS 6,000, depending on the situation and the need of the family, as part of the National Insurance's Rehabilitation Division.
That is, all the wounded who arrived at hospitals will receive an advance for their immediate needs that can reach more than NIS 10,000.  As stated, the advances constitute an immediate response in parallel with the continued assistance of the National Insurance Institute from the moment of the injury onwards.

As a reminder, anxiety victims are immediately entitled to initial psychotherapy funded by the National Insurance Institute – up to 12 therapy sessions with qualified trauma professionals (additional treatments will be approved if necessary). Therapies can be tailored to children, individuals, couples, and families. There is no need to contact the National Insurance Institute or file a claim – the National Insurance proactively contacts the relevant resilience centers and medical clinics, which are constantly updated, and finances the treatments. Importantly, it is important to contact the Resilience and Anxiety Victims Clinics to apply for recognition as victims of hostilities with respect to future treatments if necessary.

At the same time, during the Sabbath, a list of the families of abductees were notified of this – and the National Insurance Institute made preparations to provide an initial response.

  • Yarona Shalom, Acting Director General of the National Insurance Institute: From the moment of the disaster, the National Insurance Institute and its employees work around the clock to reach all the wounded and bereaved families to provide assistance in this difficult situation. At the same time, we are working with the relevant government ministries to promote outlines and provide professional knowledge of the National Insurance Institute for the promotion of actions and legislation adapted to the unique and warlike situation in which we are."
  • The Minister of Labor, Yoav Ben Tzur: "Advance payments to the war casualties will bring immediate economic relief in parallel with the mental support provided by the National Insurance Institute. This response is part of the overall understanding that this war is an event that the State of Israel has never known, certainly in the civilian aspect. We are constantly prepared to continue to provide solutions based on the needs that arise from the field."
