Following a legislative amendment, an interdepartmental review organism was established to which claims for an occupancy grant eligibility review may be submitted for evacuees who are not registered in the population register as residents of an evacuated settlement.
Who can apply to the review body?
- Students of a recognized establishment who lived in an evacuated settlement or in a settlement that was evacuated for renovation.
- Tenants of a residential property in an evacuated settlement who had a valid residential lease at the time of the evacuation.
- Owners of a residential property in an evacuated settlement that is their only residential property.
- Owners of a residential property in an evacuated settlement who own at least one other real estate asset and hold proof of residence at the time of the evacuation.
What steps should you take?
- Information on conditions of entitlement and the list of documents to be attached to your grant claim are available on the Ministry of Finance website.
- A claim for grant eligibility review, along with the required documents, must be submitted to the Population and Immigration Authority by email to mof@piba.gov.il, by May 29, 2025, Sivan 2, 5775.
Please note:
Once the review organism has examined the claim, it will forward to the National Insurance a list of persons eligible for the grant, indicating the period of eligibility. You can then complete a declaration form for the grant on the National Insurance website.
