Before being recognized as victim of a work injury, you must
first submit claim for payment work-injury benefit and a declaration of work
injury.
Your claim will be examined by an officer of the National
Insurance Institute. The average processing time for such a claim is 60 days.
Work-injury benefits are paid for a maximum of 91 days.
If your claim for work-injury benefit is approved and you
remain disabled as a result of the accident, you may, later on, submit a claim
for determination of the degree of work disability.
After submitting the claim, you will be summoned to a
Medical Board, which will determine whether you were left with a disability as
a result of your work injury.
