The National Insurance Institute will pay a financial grant and finance a care and rehabilitation (assistance) basket for relatives of fallen victims, hostages and released hostages - depending on their compliance with the conditions of entitlement.
Important to know!
A relative of a fallen victim, hostage or released hostage who was on 7.10.23 in the Gaza surrounding settlements/in a combat zone/at a party in the south will receive grants on both grounds of his stating place and family ties.
For example: a resident of Bari who is also the brother of a hostage - will receive one grant for Bari and another grant for family ties.
Financial grant
Relatives of fallen victims and hostages from 7.10.23 and of released hostage will receive a grant in the amount of NIS 14,360.
Please note that relatives of soldiers and security forces personnel who were murdered or taken hostage in the line of duty are also eligible for the grant.
Who is eligible for the grant?
- Parents, spouses, children over the age of 14 and siblings over the age of 14 - the grant will be paid to you automatically and there is no need to submit a claim.
- Regarding divorced/separated spouses of a fallen victim/hostage or a released hostage who have children under the age of 21 - to receive the grant, a claim must be submitted online on the website. A claim can be submitted until 31.12.25.
- Regarding those raising a child under the age of 21 of a fallen victim, hostage or a released hostage - to receive the grant, a claim must be submitted online on the website. A claim can be submitted until 31.12.25.
Please note that those who meet several categories of family relationship - will only receive one grant.
For example: a sibling of a hostage who raises the child of a hostage - will receive a single family relationship grant in the amount of NIS 14,360.
Rehabilitation and care basket for siblings and children of released hostages
Children over the age of 30 and siblings of any age of released hostages - are eligible for a rehabilitation and care basket of NIS 15,000.
Please note, you can receive both a financial grant of NIS 14,360 and the rehabilitation basket.
What does the rehabilitation basket include?
- Financing studies at an institution of higher education, engineering studies, diploma studies and vocational training.
- Financing mental health care provided by therapists such as a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, art therapist and more, who have been authorized by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Welfare to provide mental health care.
How do one receive a rehabilitation and care basket?
Those interested in receiving this assistance should contact the educational institution or therapist independently, pay them and we will transfer refunds to them based on the receipts presented up to the eligible amount.
To receive refunds, you must submit an online claim on the website and attach receipts
