The special benefit for severely disabled immigrants from 18 years of age to retirement ageThe age at which you will be entitled to the old-age pension, on condition that your income from work and from other sources does not exceed a certain amount. Income from work pension is not taken into account. Retirement is set at age 67 for men and 62-65, according to birth date, for women. is actually composed of two separate benefits:
1. Special attendance allowance for immigrants as of Jan 01, 2024
Conditions of entitlement:
The eligibility for the allowance is determined according the disabled person's degree of dependence on the help of others, without requirement to review his or her percentage of medical disability, provided that the immigrant does not receive another allowance or monthly payment for his subsistence, with the exception of integration basket.
Payment period:
A special attendance allowance for immigrants is paid from the 91st day after immigration to the end of the first year after immigration.
Amount of the attendance allowance for immigrants as of Jan 01, 2024:
There are four levels of eligibility determined in accordance with the extent of your need the help of other in performing daily activities:
- 50% allowance - amounting to NIS 1,771 , will be paid to those in need of a great help in performing most of daily activities most hours of the day or those needing permanent supervision.
- 112% allowance - amounting to NIS 4,099 , will be paid to those in need of a great help in performing all daily activities most hours of the day.
- 188% allowance - is paid to NIS 6,542 , will be paid to those who are completely dependent on the help of others in performing all daily activities all hours of the day.
- 235% allowance - (new benefit level from January 2022) - paid to those who are completely dependent on others, in an outstanding way, in performing all daily activities all hours of the day, and needs permanent supervision, and doesn't receive an increment for disabled on ventilator. Attendance amount - NIS 8,313 .
2. General disability pension for immigrants
Is paid from the 181st day of immigration to the end of the first year after their immigration, provided that they were previously found to be entitled to the attendance allowance for immigrants as explained above.
Towards the end of the first year after immigration, immigrants' entitlement to the attendance allowance is examined according to the regular conditions of entitlement to attendance allowance, and to the general disability pension is according to the conditions of entitlement to general disability pension.
