Learning to drive a special vehicle
The National Insurance Institute operates a program of driving lessons for persons with limited mobility who need and use a wheelchair, and who request to drive a vehicle that are wheelchair accessible.
The program is run in collaboration with 4 driving schools spread throughout the country, offering vehicles equipped with sophisticated accessories in order to assist participants in learning how to drive or use the special accessories that will be installed in their vehicles.
The driving lessons are given by teachers qualified to teach persons with disabilities, and take place as close as possible to the students' place of residence.
