The National Insurance Institute sends a
"long-term care benefit beneficiary" card to all those who have been granted a long-term care benefit.

Card's period of validity

Those entitled to a long-term care benefit without time limit - will receive a card permanently.

Those entitled to a long-term care benefit for a limited time - will receive a card with a validity corresponding to the period of entitlement they were granted
Advantages to card's holder
For recipients of a level 1 to 3 long-term care benefit - exemption to pay for an accompanying person in public venues,
For recipients of a level 4 to 6 long-term care benefit - exemption to wait in line and to pay for accompanying person.
Exemption to pay for accompanying person in public venues.
This exemption will be granted on condition that the accompanying person is not provided with any personal service at this place and no seat is allotted for him or her, such as in zoos or museums.
Card's presentation is required in order to obtain the exemption.
Examples of places where the exemption do
not apply: a
hotel room, a seat in public transportation, a seat in cinemas or theatres. Furthermore, some places may
not grant an exemption for accompanying persons in cases in which the long-term care benefit recipient is himself exempt from paying the entry fee, according to venue's arrangements.
