Income support benefit to a person who has been Israeli resident for less than 24 months


​You can be entitled to income support benefit if you have been a Israeli resident for at least 24 consecutive months, provided you meet the other conditions of entitlement.

If you are a Israeli resident for less than 24 consecutive months, you can be entitled to the benefit if you meet one of the following conditions:

  • You are a new immigrant who lives in the country for 12 months (even not consecutively), and 5 years did not elapse yet, since you immigrated to Israel. If 5 years have passed since the day of your immigration, you might be eligible only in the following cases: you are a single-parent or you live separately from your spouse, you are ill, pregnant, institutionalized or a recovering alcoholic or drug addict.
  • You receive one of the following benefits from the National Insurance Institute: old-age, survivors, work disability, benefit to family members of a person who died following a work injury or a benefit to a volunteer who got injured due to his volunteering activity.
  • The spouse meets one of the above conditions.
