Eligible people will see the payment in their account tomorrow.
The National Insurance Institute transferred this morning (21.11.23) the payment of the occupancy grants to the North and South evacuees, after cross-referencing, at the request of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Finance, the lists of those staying in the hotels transferred by the Ministry of Tourism and the statements received in the designated system established by the National Insurance.
What do the data show?
- As may be recalled, the lists transferred to the National Insurance had about 78,000 registered residents and after the data was refined, about 13,000 incorrect and unrecognizable records were found that were transferred back to the Ministry of Tourism.
- In addition, it was found that about 11,000 thousand evacuees were in the hotel records and at the same time declared, after an in-depth analysis of the data by the National Insurance, about 6,200 of them were present at the hotels for a partial period of time and will be entitled to the time they did not stay at the hotel, and for about 1,700 of them the declarations corresponded to update from hotels on a partial stay and the payment will be transferred to them for the time they spent outside the hotels.
Who is eligible for a grant?
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the government's decision stipulated that eligibility would be determined for someone whose home address was updated at the Population and Immigration Authority and whose place of residence was vacated following the war and who is not staying in a state-funded hotel.
- The grant amount for an adult (including a child over the age of 18) – NIS 200 per day when the payment is made for an adult who receives a child allowance – to the bank account to which the child allowance is paid. If he does not receive a child allowance – the payment will be transferred to his private bank account.
- For a child (up to the age of 18) – NIS 100 will be paid per day directly to the bank account to which the child allowance is paid.
How many people have already received payments?
As mentioned, today the payments were transferred to 53,532 eligible adults and for approximately 25,000 children.
It turns out that for 2,675 beneficiaries their bank account information is out of date and the National Insurance calls on them to visit the National Insurance website and update their bank account. In addition, the National Insurance will send these eligible people messages about the need to update their bank account in order to transfer the payment to them.
