- Center of the country – 7 citizens
Children
As mentioned above, of all the citizens, 53 children were murdered:
- 4 children aged 0-3
- 4 children aged 4-6
- 18 children aged 7-13 – 8 of whom were murdered last night (Saturday night)
- 27 children aged 14-18 – 4 of whom were murdered last night (Saturday night)
This morning, the National Insurance's management conducted an assessment of the situation together with the northern branches, with an emphasis on immediate assistance to families and Druze society, as well as on reaching the bereaved families and financial assistance in burial expenses. At the same time, it was decided for rehabilitation officers to visit hospitals and reach out to the wounded and their families and to promote the exercise of their rights. According to the National Insurance, the number of victims of hostilities has risen to more than 67,000 casualties. Most of them are mentally ill.
Notably, the National Insurance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Coalition for Trauma, funds treatments for anxiety victims who were present in a terrorist attack. The treatments are provided by psychologists and social workers who specialize in trauma treatment. Also, due to the security situation, it is possible to get help and treatments online by Zoom as well.
The National Insurance wishes to emphasize that the authorized centers must be followed on the National Insurance website and on the Ministry of Health's website, in order to ensure that a hostile actions victim receives the required number of treatments, and by trauma experts.
In addition, there is no need to contact the National Insurance as it directly funds the treatments with the resilience centers for the citizens, so for the applicants it is a treatment at no cost.
- Yoav Ben Zur, Minister of Labor: "As of last night, I have been following the National Insurance Institute's work in treating and assisting the bereaved families and the families of the injured from the incident in Majdal Shams. We are all brothers and we all suffer the terrible loss of innocent civilians and children from criminal and boundless terrorism. Druze society is an inseparable part of us and we will continue to stand side by side in unity and civil and human concern. The National Insurance and I will continue to accompany the bereaved families and the victims of hostilities at all times. "
- Zvika Cohen, Acting Director General of the National Insurance: "The National Insurance Institute continues to work all the time since October 7th in an emergency format and with a sense of public mission. Unfortunately, this painful war has resulted in more than 67,000 hostile actions casualties recognized by law and we are treating them while at the same time we continue to accompany the families of hostages, those who returned safely and to show profound respect to bereaved families – including those who joined the circle of bereavement last night. The National Insurance branches are prepared throughout the country for any scenario in order to continue providing assistance during this difficult time."
