Disability pensions will increase in January by 9.82% from NIS 3,700 for a full disability pension to NIS 4,063
Old-age pension will only increase by 5.3% according to the index and not the average wage in the economy
The National Insurance issued the updated amounts related to the increase in various allowances, such as: disability, disabled child, child allowance, old-age pensions and more.
In the wake of the raise in average wage in the economy, the Research Administration of the National Insurance published the amounts of allowances that are expected to increase as soon as the current month. At the beginning of the previous month, estimates projected an increase of some 9.55%, whereas today it seems that the increase will be higher and reach 9.82% for general disability allowances, attendance et disabled child.
General disability pension

Although the average wage is expected to reach an increase of about 12%, it will be subject to a 2.45% deduction, this following a 2022 year without state budget, it was therefore decided in agreement with representative associations for the disabled to transfer the frozen 2.45% of average wage - in favor of expanding rights for disability pensions.
In said agreement with the Ministry of Finance, and the Arrangements Law of 2022, it is prescribed that the 2.45% will be deducted when the increase in average wage will materialize upon its "defrost" following its freeze over the last two years.
Pensions will be calculated automatically by the National Insurance, and transferred on bank accounts directly without any required actions by pension beneficiaries.

Yarona Shalom, Acting Director of the National Insurance: "Especially in period of inflation, we are aware of the critical importance of allowances for those in need of them. The National Insurance believes that one shall consider raising allowances and/or alleviate certain conditions of other allowances.
There are a number of legal amendments and actions in support of that matter that we will submit to the incoming Minister."
