Ahead of Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Hostile Actions Casualties marked on Sunday 12.5.24, the National Insurance publishes the number of citizens killed in hostile actions since 1851 (establishment of Jewish settlement in Israel), and until today.
Hostile actions casualties
- The number of casualties reached 5,100 (since the creation of the State, their number is 4,070). Among them: 782 children and youth up to age 18. Moreover, 203 foreign citizens were killed in terror attacks over the years.
- Since the last Memorial Day until the present day, 834 additional persons have been killed in hostile actions, 12 of them from terror attacks that occurred prior to the October 7 disaster (one of them is Hana Tova Netenberg Feiner who was injured in the "Sabaro" attack in Jerusalem in 2001, and died of her injuries this year).
- Since the "black Saturday" and during the "Iron Swords" war, 822 citizens have been killed.
