Aid to soon returning hostages

The National Insurance, as the entity responsible for the care of the victims of hostile actions among Israeli citizens (barring security forces handled by the Ministry of Defense), is expected to receive the hostages from the very moment we can meet them after medical treatment - by social workers and personnel of the National Insurance (from Hostile Actions and Rehabilitation Departments).

Aid in the initial stage

  • At first, the hostages will be given a prepaid bank card of NIS 10,000 as well as an additional NIS 50,000 grant.
  • A medical treatment benefit will also be given automatically for a whole year, at a level similar to their wages before the October 7th disaster.

This assistance is designed to offer a response during the first period following the return and the recovery needs.

Recognition as victims of hostile actions and liberated hostages

The recognition is automatic and the percentage of disability related to hostile action is determined by law at 50% without examination by a Medical Board.
(These percentages allow a more extensive assistance as supplemental aid).

Assistance after the first year

A permanent monthly allowance will be provided in the framework of hostile action injury in the amount of NIS 4,957 and an additional allowance of NIS 3,300 under Redeemed Hostages Law.
The basic monthly allowance will be about NIS 8,257 (not including grants and increments).

In addition, the National Insurance will fully fund medical treatments that are not included in the health basket.

In the second phase, additional assistance will be given for:

  • Mental treatments
  • Alternative care treatments for returned hostages up to NIS 6,000 per year
  • Occupational rehabilitation
  • Personal accompaniment of National Insurance's rehabilitation officials since their arrival
  • Loans and coverage of expenses - if necessary

Families of hostages:

Remember, last week the National Insurance passed transferred quarterly grants to the families of hostages in an amount of up to NIS 200 thousand, and this to help them in their battle to obtain the return of their loved ones home.

The family members of hostages will be given additional assistance upon their return:

  • A first degree family member who will accompany the hostage during the first recovery period will be entitled to a refund for the loss of income according to the wages he had before the event.
  • Refund of taxi fares to medical establishments up to NIS 5,000.
  • Household assistance amounting to NIS 4,500 for the first 3 months.
  • Mental care for the returned hostage and his family.

As mentioned, the National Insurance, as part of its responsibility, will accompany the hostages from the day of their arrival, while at the same time providing broad assistance to their everyday needs and at all stages of their lives.

The personnel of the National Insurance longs, together with you, for the moment hostages will finally return, and will give their assistance as required in the framework of their duties - with a sense of public mission and holy anxiety.

We pray to see everyone back home soon.
